WINTERS’S DOLDRUMS!

Winter days, Oh how they linger

Drawing cold into my bones

Dreary days continue onward

Leaving me to cope alone

Where’s the springtime surely promised?

Where’re the sweetly singing birds?

Where’s the comfort of the sunshine?

I cannot write another word!

Until I see some flowers blooming

Bringing me out from the gloom

I’ll take a picture of tomorrow

Bidding it to fill my room

Springtime, please come quickly

I can almost smell you now

Roses blooming!  What a fragrance!

Lilacs on a swaying bough

With winter’s doldrums setting in

What am I to do?

I’ll make a tea and get a book

Or write a poem or two!

Poem from the Lord as given to Nancy Young on 1/8/2018
